During 2010, Launceston Town Hall underwent extensive renovation and upgrading, which has resulted in a stunning property suitable for a wide variety of uses by all the Community. This attractive, Gothic style building (dating from 1887) adjoins the Guildhall (1881), and offers two meeting rooms, plus the Guildhall itself, and the Town Hall - all of which can be hired for a variety of uses, from small Committee Meetings to parties and concerts. Car parking is available in the multi-storey car park adjoining the premises (free between the hours of 6 pm and 8 am). Launceston is well-placed being close to the A30 for ease of access, and the town has a good range of shops. Accommodation is available nearby in the town, or a short drive away in the beautiful Tamar Valley - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Meeting Rooms
There are two adjoining rooms, which are separated by a removable acoustic screen (so no sound travels between the two rooms), creating the flexibility to enable the room to cater for different numbers of people, sitting round a meeting table if required. Flipchart easel, screen for overhead projector/laptop are available. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the kitchen, together with a fridge for chilled refreshments.
The Guildhall

This room, being larger than the two meeting rooms combined, is suitable for larger meetings (it is where Council Meetings are held). It is a magnificent, historic room which also lends itself to exhibitions and displays, formal presentations, etc. Perfect also for smaller parties and functions.
The Town Hall
The Town Hall provides plenty of room for parties, wedding receptions, balls, auctions and sales, etc. There is a stage, projector and screen (which are removed when not required), and plenty of comfortable seating and tables which can be arranged according to hirers' requirements.
Reception and Bar Area
A lovely room where tea, coffee and drinks can be served. There is a fully equipped, professional kitchen as well as bar, and we have a Premises Licence for the sale of alcohol. This area is also ideal for small exhibitions and displays.
Playing Music
Please be aware that if your use of any of our rooms includes the playing of music (whether live or recorded), you will need to have either a PPL Licence or a PRS Licence - or possibly both. Launceston Town Council will invoice you for the relevant PRS cost (see attachment below) unless you provide us with evidence that you have your own Licence (ie a photocopy of the Licence).
